Adrianus Remiëns (Amsterdam, January 8, 1890? There, September 8, 1972) was a Dutch artist. His paintings, drawings and sculptures are known. Remi_ns received his training at the Drawing School for Kunstambachtente Amsterdam and was influenced by his teacher Joseph Mendes da Costa. Remi_ns worked for some time for the Regina Art Pottery Factory in Gouda. He mainly worked from Amsterdam, Schoorl, Blaricum, Laren (North Holland) and Amsterdam again. From 1919 to 1948 he was married to Jetske Dionysia Gangel. The works of Adrianus Remi_ns were popular in Amsterdam in the 1920s. He supplied various facade ornaments such as the Two Eagles, and another facade ornament in the shape of an eagle. He was engaged to decorate viaducts for the Ring Railway, which was to be built in the 1930s, but was not completed until the 1980s. The sculptures intended for the viaducts have therefore been placed in the Nieuwe Hoogstraat.
