Bodo Mans (1935-2001)

Artist

Designer Bodo Mans has become known for his work as a ceramist for Bay Keramik. Mans started out as a window dresser student and also worked as a graphic artist. In the 1950s he studied ceramics at a vocational school in Höhr-Grenzhausen. After his studies he worked as a pottery painter at Keto Keramik. He later went to Madoura where he worked on Picasso's ceramic designs. After his return to Germany he worked for Ruscha and Jean Fuss & Sohn KG. At Bay Keramiek his designs were adopted and from 1962 to 1975 he was appointed as permanent designer. After that time he worked as an independent designer and artist.
