Carl-Henning PEDERSEN (Copenhagen 1913 - Frederiksberg 2007)
Carl-Henning Pedersen was a self-taught painter. His career as an artist began in 1936 under the influence of Egill Jacobsen. From 1942 to 1949, Carl Pedersen was a member of 'Host' and belonged to the group surrounding the magazine 'Helhesten'.
In 1948, Carl Pedersen joined the CoBrA group, even though he was not very concerned with the organization and way of thinking of this movement. Pedersen remained in Denmark all his life. He participated in the illustrious CoBrA exhibitions in Amsterdam (1949) and Liège (1951). The CoBrA magazine also published Pedersen's work, but despite everything, Pedersen preferred to concentrate on his own work.
Pedersen has always had his own style. This was already clearly visible in his art after the war, paintings of birds and gods, mainly in white and yellow tones. Pedersen has always stuck to his own style, including the world of fables with bowls, houses, trees, suns and gods. It continued to inspire him until his death.
Belongs to the following movements/groups: CoBrA
