Casper Faassen grew up in Leiden but now works in Amsterdam.
The work is figurative and is characterized by drawings and paintings by women. He has been influenced by great masters of art history and in particular Picasso. The women who dominate Casper Faassen's work are realistically portrayed in their own style that also has influences from comic strips and are often placed on a plain contrasting background.
Casper Faassen is an emerging talent and in 2007 won the prize of “Most Promising Visual Artist”.
