Doe Maar was founded in 1978 by Ernst Jansz and Piet Dekker. Later Henny Vrienten joined and it became one of the most successful bands in Dutch music history. Doe Maar retired in 1984.
There were reunions in 1999-2000 (incl. a new album) 2008 and from 2011 (incl. album).
