Plateel factory Firma Wed. NSA BRANTJES & Co (Purmerend 1895 - Purmerend 1904)
Plateelfabriek Brantjes (not to be confused with Plateelfabriek Purmerend) was founded by Petronella Brantjes (a wealthy widow) and Egbert Estié. The decorative pottery, with Jugendstil decor, is clearly influenced by Rozenburg and is of high quality. This pottery factory was set up very professionally and very many skilled pottery painters worked there. Nevertheless, the factory went bankrupt in 1904.
Characteristic are the year letters, painting initials and Faience de Purmerende Hollande that was placed on the bottom of the pottery.
