Harry van KRUININGEN (Kruiningen 1906 - Laren 1996)
Graphic artist, graphic designer, illustrator
Education: Harry van Kruiningen was educated at the Institute of Applied Arts in Amsterdam and then studied at the Piersma Drawing Institute in Amsterdam. Lives and works in Amsterdam
Harry van Kruiningen is best known as a graphic artist and illustrator of children's books, such as De Tovertuin by Eekje Hoorn. During the Second World War, Harry van Kruinigen worked for the resistance and used his litho press to make fake identity cards. After the war Harry Van Kruiningen joined an artists' department and from 1958 to 1971 he worked as a teacher of Graphic Techniques at the Academy of Visual Arts in Arnhem. During his lifetime Harry van Kruiningen received several awards.
