The artist lived and worked in Amsterdam and Haarlem and the surrounding area.
Kees Verwey made a name for himself in the 20th century as a painter, watercolorist and draftsman. He was also known for his stubborn, stubborn personality. Verwey was born in Haarlem, into a family of painters, poets and architects, and is considered a true representative of the school of the classics, but with its own 'twist'. His themes consist of color and form, flowers and decay, women, objects and matter, all painted in his studio at the Spaarne under constantly changing light and atmosphere.
