Koos BREUKEL (The Hague 1962)
Photographer Portrait photography, autonomous photography Known for, among other things, state photos of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima in 2013. Koos Breukel works and lives in Amsterdam.
In 1978, at the age of sixteen, Breukel got his first photo camera from his mother. In the beginning he mainly photographed landscapes. From 1982 to 1986 he studied at the School of Photography and Photonics in The Hague. After his studies he started working as a freelance photographer in Amsterdam and specialized in portrait photography. His photos regularly appeared in magazines, including Quote and Oor. He has been working almost completely autonomously since 1999. Breukel is currently making series for museums and galleries.
