Lucie Quirina BAKKER (Rotterdam 1915 – Lochem 2003)
In 1938 Bakker started a pottery studio in the attic of a canal house in Amsterdam. She was one of the first ceramists with an electric kiln. In her early years she mainly produced unique pieces, but energy and materials became scarce due to the war. As a result, there was little production. When production picked up again, it shifted its focus from unique items to serial production of tableware. In her studio she worked together with Jan de Rooden and Brigitte Pos. When she decided to stop producing tableware in 1967, her designs were sold to the Koninklijke Tichelaar factory in Makkum.
