Marijn Alexander Morée was born on 7 June 1951 in Den Helder. Although he still lives in the Netherlands, he works most of the time in Bar-sur-Aube (France) where he has his studio and can paint in peace. He became acquainted with the painting profession through Rudi van de Wint. His youth work is surprisingly similar to the work the artist is making now, 35 years later. His first exhibitions are held even before he started his education. From 1971 to 1975 he studied graphics and architectural design at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. Until 1979 he worked as an architect and did not paint anything. But blood just flows where it can't. From one day to the next he gave up the drawing board. For four years he sailed around the world with his wife Yvonne and lived in Spain, Italy and Greece. He started painting again in 1985 and had immediate success with his bright and colorful paintings and objects. Since then he has exhibited at home and abroad; his work is collected by individuals, companies and institutions. His work is regularly cited in all kinds of articles in newspapers and (art) magazines. His first monograph is published in 1994
