Max Verboeket was educated at the Secondary School for Applied Arts and the Jan van Eyck Academy in Maastricht. He then worked as a glass designer at the Kristalunie, where he succeeded WJ as chief designer. From 1969 he teaches at the City Academy of Applied Arts in Maastricht, where he eventually made unexecuted plans for setting up a glass department.
Verboeket has designed a lot of consumer glass. One of his most famous designs was the Carnival service . In the 1960s he started to design less functionally and focused on the autonomous side of glass design. This is how the KristalunieKen arose: increasingly capricious organic forms that arise from other, more angular basic forms. These objects have been very popular for a long time.
