Michael Lasoff was born in Chicago in 1948. He is of Russian/Polish/French/Greek descent. Michael Lasoff graduated from the Minneapolis School of Fine Arts and Design, where he was taught by, among others, Christo, George Segal and Roberto Matta. In the Netherlands, among others, Edgar Fernhout and Co Westerik. His paintings are penetrating, moving, but also cheerful and funny. He only paints women, often nude.
