Otto EERELMAN (Groningen, March 23, 1839 - Groningen, October 3, 1926) was a painter, etcher and lithographer who is best known for his realistic sketches and paintings of dogs and horses. As a court painter, he also produced various portraits of Princess Wilhelmina in her early years and later as Queen. In 1898 the art album Paardenrassen was published, in which explanatory texts by EAL Quadekker were accompanied by forty-one lithographs (produced by Richard Schoenbeck) of Eerelmans horse paintings. Due to the thorough expertise of army captain-veterinarian Quadekker and the very accurate sketches and paintings by Eerelman, this was a highly valued and sought-after book. As a tribute to the royal family, Queen Wilhelmina's favorite horse "Woyko" was given a prominent place at the beginning of the book. Lithograph no. 27
