Education: Philip Zilcken took lessons at the Drawing Academy in The Hague. Zilcken lived and worked in The Hague.
Philip Zilcken mainly drew his inspiration from his travels to France, Egypt and Italy. Philip Zilcken also made etchings after paintings of the Hague School. Philip Zilcken painted with a very loose touch.
