Wim BETTENHAUSEN Born 1942 in The Hague. Education Royal Academy of Art in The Hague. Taught etching at the VABK in The Hague for 12 years. His work is often described as lyrical realistic. In figurative etchings contrast and tension between light and shadow are sought. Subjects are often cityscapes with a pursuit of the timeless and with a search for palpable tension, which can contribute something surreal.
