Founded in 1773 - dissolved in 1836
The Society for this to Hooger was founded in Rotterdam because of a revival of interest in painting. Soon some members were separated from the society, they were called the Grutterians. The society itself drew twice a week after a dressed model. From 1781 the company became a "public academy", and students were accepted. In 1836 the society eventually merged with the Arti Sacrum society.
