Founded in 1923
In 1887 the A.F.V. founded, the Amateur Photographers Association. This association grew considerably and people from all over the country are signing up. Before the Second World War, this national interest declined again due to the crisis and the emergence of other good photography associations in other cities. Nevertheless, the now NAFV remained an important player and serve as an example for the other associations. In 1923 the Amsterdam Amateur Photographers Association was founded, or the AAFV. In 2003 the NAFV and the AAFV decided to merge, which eventually led to the NAFVA.
