Founded in 1903
The Salon d'Automne was an exhibition in Paris for sculpture and painting, although painting was dominant. In addition, there were also creations of decorative arts. The first exhibition was organized because of the conservative policy of the Paris Salon. The Salon soon stood for the developments and innovations of the 20th century arts. The Salon d'Automne has seen many different artistic movements come and go in its existence, including the most important of the last century such as cubism, surrealism and abstract art.
