Founded in 1946 - dissolved in 1976
After the Second World War, a small group of Arnhem citizens founded the Arnhemse Artists Work Community, or W.A.K. Through this organization they wanted to stimulate and promote the cultural climate in Arnhem. Various cultural clubs and foundations arise from the WAK, such as the Association for the Visual Arts and the Sonsbeek open-air exhibitions.
