Adri Blok was a student at the Academy of Visual Arts in Rotterdam, where she was taught by the sculptor Gerard Hoppen (1885-1959). She designed a roguish little girl's head in trois quart in broad batches, which almost fills the coin area. De Geuzenpenning writes: 'The first portrait medal, which was made of Princess Beatrix.
