Adriana Baarspul (1940-2020) was a well-known Dutch ceramist. Her work consists of free and figurative plastics and consumer goods. Although she often made series within the same theme, all her works are unique, mainly animal figures and fantasy animals. Her colors are sober and very earthy.” She signed almost all pieces with 'Adri' and a year. She also taught at the Werkschuit in Aalsmeer and Uithoorn and from 1971 at the Amsterdam Academy for Visual Education and at the d'Witte Lelie teacher training college in Amsterdam. Some of her many students over the years have developed into prominent artists. The work offered comes from a private collection and was purchased directly from the artist at the time. | |
