Arthur Douhaerdt was a painter, draftsman, etcher and lithographer of the Brabant landscape.
Initiated into painting by his mother and subsequently trained at the Academy of Brussels. Has a personal vision of people and things. Teacher at the school for lithography in Brussels (1906). From 1924 onwards leads Le Cercle des Etudes Lithographiques and renews lithography in Belgium. His technique is nervous and his interpretations grand and decorative. Settles in Strombeek-Bever in 1938. Falls into oblivion until his oeuvre is rediscovered in 1984 and exhibited in the Cultural Centre of Strombeek. Work in the Print Room in Brussels.
