Brunet Riegstra - Still life

Born in 1953 in Tjalleberd (Fr.). She was educated at the Academy Minerva in Groningen. (1972-1977) From 1988 she regularly exhibits in the country. Brunet Riegstra works with acrylic or oil paint on canvas or panel. She turns the landscapes, still lifes, nudes and portraits into an exuberantly expressive play of surfaces, bands and colours. Highly simplified forms, which often have a cubist appearance, are ordered by her and therefore radiate a certain tranquility. Landscapes and village views are stripped of superfluous frills in order to sketch the essence of the creature. Each color section is composed of countless nuances and has a deep effect. The skies, the lands with ditches and puddles, tree parties containing the half-hidden farms, constructions, agriculture and planting of the human hand in the serene tranquility of the countryside. Her work is for sale in several well-known galleries.
