Info: Lifeboat skipper C. van den Berg and daughter have modeled for this statue. The original image on the
Queen Wilhelmina Boulevard in Noordwijk aan Zee, was commissioned by the municipality of Noordwijk by Charlotte D. Baroness van Pallandt on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the Royal North and South Holland Rescue Society in 1974. This as a tribute to all rescuers.
Revealed on September 25, 1976 by the widow of Herman Vink, who died on November 24, 1919, together with Jan Cramer and Leendert Hellenberg, when the KW47 was stranded during a rescue.
