CL Dake made a series of 15 etchings of famous Amsterdam gates, this is one gate from that series.

The Leprozenpoort is the gate that gave access to the Leper House, a house that was originally only intended for people with leprosy but later also became a home for other, physically and mentally, handicapped people. In 1866 the Leper House was demolished (area Waterlooplein) and the gate was restored in 1978 and moved to the Sint Antoniesluis.

When purchasing, a work of art can always be picked up, but by appointment, in Diemen (near Amsterdam, a few minutes from the A10 ring road). The collection period is very long; you can possibly pick up the work weeks or even months later and, if possible, combine it with a visit to (the) Amsterdam area for other matters. In that case you will, of course, save any shipping costs.
