Cor Quax was born in 1927. He grew up in Schagen, and moved to Beverwijk in 1985 where he died in 2008. There he went to work at Hoogovens. In his spare time he started painting. He only started painting in 1975. His preference was for Dutch landscapes. Cor Quax was born in Nieuwe Niedorp and loved West Friesland. This is reflected in many of his paintings.
