This large colour etching is described and illustrated in his oeuvre overview under number: CB061K. The etching is signed by the artist by hand in pencil at the lower right. bottom left in pencil: Damrak. The etching is ACID FREE and beautifully framed. Etching is in good condition. ===================================================== Cornelis Brandenburg was born in the year 1884 in Wormerveer. In 1902 he went to Amsterdam and studied at the Drawing School for Arts and Crafts. As a plate painter he worked at "De Distel" in Amsterdam. Pupil of the famous etcher P. Dupont. After this he concentrated completely on etching and was the most important etcher of the Amsterdam Canals, but also etchings of Utrecht, Dordrecht, The Hague and other cities. More than 100 etchings of Amsterdam and here the Amsterdam Archives has more than 60 etchings. He died in Amsterdam in 1954. A book has been published containing all his etchings.
