Dominic Rouse (b. 1959) is a multi-disciplined photographer who began his photographic career as a photojournalist at sixteen years of age.
In early 1980, aged twenty, he set out on a photographic journey to Africa.
This Masai warrior was photographed in the Tanzanian bush in February of that year.
The photographer gave the young African his RayBan sunglasses to wear but when he was finished photographing him the model wasn't very happy about returning them. As the young Masai was armed with a sharp spear and himself with only a 35mm camera, Dominic chose discretion as the better part of valour and returned to his hotel minus his sunglasses but mercifully uninjured.
