Emeke Buitelaar: “My path is the route that my intuition tells me. That is the right path, I trust that.” Buitelaar’s work has a unique, colorful style. Emeke Buitelaar initially worked a lot with monoprints, after which she switched to oil paintings. In the meantime, there are also painted objects, mosaics, lithographs and specially made ties by her hand. She is known for her colorful images in which her fascination for the culture and visual language of Indian tribes is clearly recognizable. Her style is a mixture of bright colors, realistic images and symbolic elements. She also worked briefly with the artist Anton Heyboer.
