Beautiful gouache by Erik Ortvard. Erik Ortvad joined the Danish artists' association Höst in 1945 and later became an active member of the Cobra movement. His works hang in the Museum of Modern Art in New York and Statens Museum for Kunst in Copenhagen, among others. This painting comes from the estate of Henri van de Louw, art writer, who died in 2013. An old damp spot is clearly visible on the back in the left corner, but hardly visible on the work itself, see photos.
