Mendlik is considered to belong to the second generation of the Group of Figurative Abstraction. She is known for the statue of actor Ko Arnoldi that is located in the Amsterdam City Theatre.
She is the granddaughter of the famous artist Oscar Mendlik and Julie Mijnssen (she was the first woman to be awarded the Prix de Rome).
