He continued his education at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan, where he was taught by the sculptors Luciano Minguzzi and Marino Marini (1958-1959). Van der Linden was best known for his bronze animal figures, he also made various medals. He was a member of the Professional Association of Visual Artists, the Brabant Foundation for Visual Arts and Edelambacht and the Brabant Art Foundation.


He worked as a medallist, draftsman and sculptor.
Van der Linden has created many works in public spaces, including in 's-Hertogenbosch, Amersfoort, Deurne, Bergen op Zoom, Eindhoven and Uden.
