Waarschijnlijk heeft hij les gehad va deze beroemde schilder odat deze een soortgelijk schilderij heeft in zijn collectie.
Afmeting 36 x 54 cm
In het boek Nederlandse beeldende kunstenaars 1750-1950 van Pieter A. Scheen staat het volgende over F.L. Gulik vermeld
Franciscus Lodewijk van Gulik; * geboren in Maastricht op 11 juni 1841, overleden in Rotterdam op 15 april 1899.
Woonde en werkte in Rotterdam. Schilderde stadsgezichten in de trant van C. Springer en louis Apol
Daarnaast is het bekend dat hij ook winterlandschappen schilderde.
F.L. van Gulik (1841-1899) dateerde zelden zijn schilderijen, bij het museum hanteert men circa 1880.
