Ger Boosten (1947) Graphic artist, painter. Studied at the City Academy for Applied Arts in Maastricht and the prestigious Jan van Eyck Academy, also in Maastricht, where he was later a guest lecturer. Illustrator of poetry collections by Hans van de Waarsenburg and Wiel Kusters, among others. He made drawings for NRC Handelsblad. His work hangs in significant places: the Prometheus on the fire screen in the Maastricht Bonbonnière is by him, as is the ceiling painting of the Mosasaurus in the Natural History Museum. His work is part of countless corporate collections, collector Jo Eyck bought his work, as did Museum Van Bommel Van Dam in Venlo. The Bonnefantenmuseum in Maastricht has seventy works by Boosten. He is a perfectionist who spends years working on a canvas. Boosten received the "Prijs der Stad Maastricht" in 1971 and the Royal Subsidy for Free Painting in the same year
