To express this he makes frequent use of symbolism. The graphic artist painter Ger Boosten was born on 10-06-1947 in Valkenburg. He attended the academy of applied art in Maastricht from 1964-1965. From 1966-1971 the Jan van Eyck Academy in Maastricht. The style features symbolic-realism realistic abstract and figurative. He painted landscapes people cityscapes symbolist themes, social themes still lifes and classical cultures. Ger Boosten is a perfectionist who works for years on a canvas. In 1971 he received the prize of the city of Maastricht and in the same year the royal subsidy for free painting. The Bonnefanten museum in Maastricht has 70 works by Boosten. his work hangs in significant places, the ceiling painting of the Mosasaurus in the Natural History Museum is also his, as in the Bonbonniere in Maastricht, the Prometheus on the fire screen is his hand.
