Gerdine Duijsens lived and worked in Lieshout, now near Amsterdam. She is a late bloomer in art. Not that she started so late, or had no talent...
At the age of eighteen, Gerdine Duijsens studied at the Utrecht Academy Artibus. Where Gerdine only wanted to learn to draw better, she was immersed in the – for her at that time incomprehensible – abstract art. The education did not match her expectations and she left. Two decades and three daughters later, Gerdine Duijsens shows that she has not been sitting still in the meantime and has also come to appreciate abstract art.
