Gertruud is a well-known name in the world of art galleries and has been giving free rein to her creative abilities for many years. Being artistic is a source of inspiration and relaxation for her. She has oriented herself in different art forms and eventually found her passion in making images of curvier women. Under the name Big Ladies she designs powerful full female figures that radiate self-esteem, uniqueness and cheerfulness. Characteristic of her work is that every lady designed by her radiates both strength and softness. The fat ladies are full of merriment. Many of the images have indigenous influences. The portrayal of the women arises from the aspects that I encounter in daily life. I get inspiration for new shapes and attitudes from my surroundings. Each image is therefore unique and each image is a challenge for me in which I am working to find the right proportions and colors. I also experiment with other art forms every now and then, so I keep myself sharp and continue to develop.
