In 1979 the Dutch one and only Rock 'n Roll star Herman Brood announced that he would tie the knot with the German singer Nina Hagen. For weeks, the couple dominated the headlines. Govert de Roos made a wedding report with 'the couple' for the magazine Muziek Expres. The intention was to do this in the Hilton, but the then management of the hotel did not like that. That is why they moved to the Okura and after the shoot Brood and Hagen stayed there for a few more days. Later, the marriage turned out to be a stunt to generate attention for the movie Cha Cha, in which Brood and Hagen played the lead.
The photo is not just a portrait, it also gives a beautiful and unique image of the time. In addition to the most discussed pair of that year, you can see the Amsterdam of 1979 in the background. There is also something different to discover in the room every time.
The photograph of Herman Brood and Nina Hagen from 1979 is 20×20 cm, printed on Hahnemühle Baryta paper and delivered in a 30×30 cm passe-partout, personally signed by Govert de Roos. Both the photo and the passe-partout contain an original embossing (relief print) by Govert de Roos. In a very nice deepened black frame.
