Guilherme d'Oliveira Marques (12 octobre 1887 au Brésil - 15 mai 1960 à Léopoldville dans le Congo belge (actuelle Kinshasa en République démocratique du Congo) est un peintre et un sculpteur portugais. Il est considéré comme l'un des pères de la peinture africaine.
Il est enterré dans le cimetière de la Ngombé à Kinshasa.
Il a réalisé de nombreuses peintures (plus de 152), des sculptures de personnages en bois, ainsi que des gravures et des esquisses.
Dans les années 1930, il a travaillé pour le journal "COSMO-KIN", hebdomadaire polyglotte dont le premier numéro date du dimanche 4 janvier 1931.
Guilherme Marques d’Oliveira was born in Brazil on October 12, 1887 of Portuguese parents. He was a painter and sculptor.
During his young adulthood, Marques moved to the Belgium Congo and resided and worked in Kinshasa which is now located in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. There he painted local scenes as well as creating wooden sculptures. He also created many sketches and engravings.
Marques d’Oliviera is today considered one of the fathers of African paintings. He created over 152 paintings during his lifetime.
He died in Kinshasa, Congo on May 15, 1960.
