Beautiful etching by the surrealist artist (graphic artist, painter) Hans Bellmer (1902-1975), who was trained in Berlin by George Grosz but lived and worked in Paris since the 1930s. He became known for his erotic representations of the female body in drawings, graphics or fetish-like dolls. Since the 1950s he has worked with Unica Zürn in Paris. He exhibited at the MoMA (1935/1936) and at the Documenta II and III in Kassel. This etching was printed in 100 copies (this is no. 17/100) on colored, gray-beige Japanese paper and was hand-enhanced in various places with white body paint. The etching is framed in a gilded wooden frame, behind passe-partout and glass; If the etching needs to be sent, the glass will be replaced by plexiglass.
