In his early years as a visual artist, he processed what he acquired according to his personal views. Together with his classmate from the Rijksacademie Constant Nieuwenhuys, Hans Wiesman made a trip to Paris in 1946. In the gallery Pierre Loeb they met Asger Jorn. Hans Wiesman was thus at the cradle of the Cobra movement. His work is therefore related to the spirit of that movement. Back in Haarlem, Hans Wiesman became involved in the Haarlem Art Life. In 1949 he united with other artists and art lovers in the society de Teisterbant. Work by Hans Wiesman has been purchased by the Dutch government, the municipality of Haarlem and the Frans Hals Museum in Haarlem, among others.
