Henri Chaumeil - aiguière Géo Martel - Décor Strasbourg

Particularly beautiful decanter (aiguière) from the series "fait main" from the collection of Géo Martel in Desvres (France), designed by artist Henri Chaumeil (1877-1944). This collection includes about 6000 different models of pottery. In addition, many of these models are offered in several motifs, which are named after French cities. The motif Strasbourg (Décor Strasbourg) is characterized by large flowers and has purple as its main colour. This motif is highly sought after and gives this elegant and for the brand soberly designed decanter a stylish appearance. In the display cabinet (see photo) in which the company exhibited the collection, you can recognize the carafe under the number 1869-2 (top row, second from the left), albeit with a different motif. The offered decanter measures approx. 16 x 11 x 33 cm and is in a good vintage condition with only minor damage at the foot.
