This series was commissioned by Hans van Breukhoven and published with permission from Herman Brood and his management. This is a litho art print. Herman Brood was a legend in his own right. As a singer, pianist, actor and poet, he became a phenomenon in Dutch culture. In addition, he was a drug addict and, in his own words, the 'national cuddle junkie' and was known as the Dutch embodiment of the hedonistic credeo 'Sex, drugs & rock 'n roll'. But he was also an artist: Everyone knows Herman Brood's paintings. Herman Brood (1946-2001) often painted in the tradition of the Cobra: in large format and with bright colors. The choice of primary colors was largely out of necessity, because he was color blind. In addition, letters were often applied to his work with black paint and his signature 'bread' is a recognizable part of the painting. In 1993, Brood created the Pop series, in which world-famous jazz and pop legends were created by Herman Brood in his own characteristic way.
