Hubertus Melchior Josephus (Huub) van Baar (1894-1982 - Painter.
Hubertus Melchior Josephus (Huub) van Baar was born on March 24, 1894 in Deurne as the son of Fransciscus Henricus Petrus van Baar and Maria Bernardina van Bon. Father Frans was a well-known practitioner of painting. He left for Amsterdam in 1918. There he attended the National Academy of Visual Arts. He later returned to Venray. He was a teacher of arts and crafts education. He moved to Eindhoven in 1928, where Huub became a teacher at the Secondary Applied Arts School. Exhibited with his brothers-in-law KeesTimmering and Sebastiaan Bakermans in the library of the town hall on Rechtestraat. Made murals in the Klaaskerk in Venlo and the chapel of Dekkerswald, among others. After his retirement he painted regularly with Kees Bol. In addition to still lifes, Huub van Baar also painted Dommel and Peel landscapes and women. Was a member of the Eindhovense Kunstkring. Huub died on December 1, 1982 in Eindhoven.
This work was given as a wedding gift to a cousin of Huub. Text on back.
