In de jaren zestig van de 20e eeuw kwam zij op advies van Johan Dijkstra bij de Vrije Schilders-academie van de kunstenaarsvereniging De Ploeg, waar zij in hetzelfde jaar als lid werd aangenomen.
Vanaf 1969 exposeerde Irene Verbeek onder meer:
in Amsterdam bij galerie Art & Architecture, galerie Zuid, Galerie Choice, Studio Amazone;
in Den Haag in het Museum Meermanno;
in Groningen in Pictura en het Groninger Museum.
Onder andere te vinden in de Jacobs 1993, 2000, 2002 en het RKD
Het werk wordt goed verpakt met meerdere lagen karton en bubbeltjesfolie.
Verzending combineren alleen indien kavels binnen zeven dagen van elkaar aflopen.
