De Ruig took painting lessons with Van Neijenhuis, Gérard van Wijland and JMJ Bolinger. He painted in a partly impressionistic, partly realistic style, mainly (river) landscapes, portraits and (flower) still lifes. De Ruig lived and worked in Baarn all his life. | |||||
