Louwers, Johannes Antonius (Jan). Born in Stratum (municipality of Eindhoven) in 1915. Lived and worked in Stratum, Meerveldhoven, Amsterdam, Merveldhoven, Eindhoven; since 1953 in Leende. Student of the Academy in Tilburg and the National Institute for the Training of Drawing Teachers in Amsterdam. Painted, watercolored and drew (also pen) in figurative style, landscapes, portraits and still lifes. Was formerly a member of the Breda Art Circle, later called "Jeroen Bosch" (now defunct). Taught at the academy in Eindhoven and at secondary schools. Died in 1991.
