As a traditional painter with his own unique style and handwriting, Jan Bos stands in a centuries-long tradition of landscape painting. In this he is a small Dutch master from Zutphen.
Bos was a traditional painter who liked to identify with the little Dutch master from the 17th century, because of his unique character, handwriting and professional skills. He found his inspiration close to home, in his hometown of Zutphen and the surrounding area. Bos depicted his subjects in a realistic style, both in watercolor and oil paint. He summarized his personal motivation in the comment: “I want to convey the wonder on paper.”
