Geboren Den Haag 1 februari 1845 – Overleden Den Haag 2 september 1894.
Schilderde voornamelijk plattelandsgezichten met vee.
Leerling van zijn broer Adriaan Vrolijk, P. Stortenbeker en aan de Haagse Academie van Beeldende Kunsten. Zijn werken waren tijdens zijn leven al populair. Hij was actief lid van Pulchri waar hij regelmatig exposeerde.
